Water Fun

It's been soooo hot! Fortunately we have a farm dam 2 mins walk from my studio door. Loved this photo that I snapped at the dam today. Yoda loves the dam as much as we do! Total exuberance and joy.

I'm sure that's a smile on her face!

Welcome to my blog! Look through the pages and explore some of the books that I've illustrated.

I work in a variety of mediums including water colour, pen and ink, pencil crayon and pastels depending on the subject matter and style and feel of the book. I illustrate a wide scope of genres from: ‘How-to’ illustrations for Gardening and Craft books, Parenting books, Educational Reference books for children, School Text books and Children’s Story Books and Readers.

I am passionate about art and education. I love my career. I love free lancing. I love being creative. I love the variety of projects, each one a challenge. Working with different teams of people on different projects and forging special friendships and working relationships keeps me stimulated and I’m never bored. I love the pressure of deadlines and enjoy being a team player.

Once the craziness of tight deadlines and manic timeframes subsides and there is down time before new illustration projects kick off, I catch my breath and relax into producing my own artwork for the Baardskeerders Bos Art Route which takes place 3 times a year. Nothing prescribed, no briefs, just creativity for creativities sake. The perfect balance.
